Explore concepts such as motion, forces, energy, momentum, heat and heat transfer, waves, electricity, magnetism, and modern physics
Participate in model building and other experimental methods
Use digital interactives to learn new concepts
Physics 1 is an algebra-based, introductory physics course. Students will cultivate an understanding of physics through class discussion, in-class activity, and virtual, inquiry-based laboratory simulations as they explore concepts such as motion, forces, energy, momentum, heat and heat transfer, waves, electricity, magnetism, and modern physics. The course has a strong focus on inquiry, model building and experimental methods. Additionally, while the primary focus of this course is physics principles and phenomena, a cursory knowledge of Algebra 1 is needed to ensure fluency in problem solving.
